The artist has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the MVT, which works to protect the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.

Fender was presented with the award on mid-October as his third album the album was declared the outstanding release of the past year.

Fender has decided to donate the funds to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the crucial part grassroots venues had in his beginning days.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it weren't for all the performances I did around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," said Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – approximately 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

Recently, major artists including the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits local stages.

Fender also joined in, generating over £100k on his recent tour to support numerous grassroots venues across Britain.

The donation assisted venues that were dealing with potential shutdown due to challenges stemming from flooding, blazes and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and noise complaints.

Other venues were granted monetary aid in improving infrastructure and technical equipment that directly benefitted performers and fans.

"The notion that funds from shows in major spaces backs the smaller venues, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has said.

The musician is among several artists to donate his honor funds to worthy causes.

In they won the trophy in the year 1996 for their record the album, vocalist Cocker announced that the act would donate their winnings to the organization War Child.

In 2002, musician Ms Dynamite divided her prize between multiple good causes, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"I also donated a grand to my local community centre, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required better apparatus," the artist shared with outlets.

In recent years, the band contributed their prize money to the local youth club that developed their act, alongside other local music groups.

Also the 1994 recipients the group gave their award to a MS organization after a friend was identified with the disease.

"The victory was quite enough," remarked artist Small. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our winning touched the lives of others."

Last week, the trust revealed it had saved several local spots in south-east England, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The first in that area and The Croft in Bristol were acquired under the public acquisition initiative, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who purchase "shares" in the venues.
